Pastor Jim is adding a new element
to his preaching ministry!
Each week Pastor Jim will post two links: the first is to a video of the previous Sunday's Scripture reading and the Sermon. On the second is a printed summary of the previous week's sermon plus daily devotionals and a Bible Study Guide based on each sermon. There also will be short video clips excerpted from each sermon. Please give feedback on the chatbot at the bottom of the page. Is this a valuable tool of Ministry?
Here are this week's links:

* The Lectionary is a listing of biblical texts, spread out over a three-year period. The texts are listed for each Sunday of that three-year cycle, and include a text from the Hebrew Scriptures, a Psalm, a reading from one of the Gospels, and a reading from one of the epistles. Note that Pastor Jim is currently preaching a series on The Beatitudes (Matthew 5:1-12) and is not using the Lectionary.

October 11, 2026 ~ Twentieth Sunday After Pentecost
Sermon Scripture: Matthew 5:1-2, 5; Psalm 37:7-11
Sermon Title: "Beatitudes IV: Land for the Humble"
Sermon Scripture: Matthew 5:1-2, 5; Psalm 37:7-11
Sermon Title: "Beatitudes IV: Land for the Humble"
#4 in the Beatitude series! TThe third beatitude is taken almost verbatim from Psalm 37:11: “The humble shall have the land for their own.” There’s an irony here. If there was one hated group in the Palestine of Jesus’s day, it was landlords—those who possessed the land. The landlords certainly weren’t meek or gentle, so Jesus is turning that around and saying, “No, it’s you, humble ones, who are finally going to possess the land.” So, how does Jesus imply that will happen?
We invite you to join us in worship, either in person or on You Tube (First Christian Church, Conway, Arkansas - YouTube), or you can view the recorded service later on this website--just click on the "Worship Videos" link at the left of the page. You also can view past worship services on the same page of this website.
If you prefer reading (as I often do), and/or want to check out the footnotes that credit and document my sources, click on "Sermon Manuscripts" on the left margin of this page. In each sermon, beginning September 20, 2026, there will be short video clips and a sermon summary, followed by daily devotionals and a Bible Study Guide based on the sermon.
Our Sunday School Fall Semester is in full swing! Classes for every age! Visit our Christian Education Page for details.
I look forward to greeting you soon, hopefully face-to-face, but virtually, if necessary!
Together in the Walk,
Pastor Jim
