We are a congregation joined in covenant with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in the United States and Canada. You are invited to explore our denominational website at this link: http://disciples.org/
As a congregation, we participate in the Outreach and Mission programs of our General Church. Through budgeted funds and through six "special day" offerings each year, we join with other Disciple congregations to support the General and Regional ministries of the church, including our church-related colleges and universities, and ministries of peace, justice, and compassion both globally and at home. Our General Church also offers resources and support for local congregational ministries of worship, discipling. evangelism, and fellowship. Visit http://disciples.org/ and click on the "Missions" tab to explore the many expressions of ministry we support.
The six "Special Day" offerings are in addition to our budgeted outreach to Disciple Mission Fund. These offerings are made up of gifts from individual members, and include the following:
Week of Compassion Offering
www.weekofcompassion.org/
(taken in February; although voluntary offerings in support of specific needs are taken as needed) is our denomination's participation in a world-wide ministry in times of disaster, such as earthquakes, hurricanes, refugee crises, etc.
Reconciliation Offering
reconciliationministry.org/
(taken late September/early October) funds our denominational ministries to inner city concerns and racism.
Christmas Offering
disciplesmissionfund.org/special-offerings/christmas-offering/
(taken in December) goes to strengthening the Regional offices throughout the USA and Canada. All monies collected remain in the Region where collected.
The Following Offerings are designated to help fund the General Ministries of the Church:
