Sermon Scripture: I Corinthians 1:1-0
Sermon Title: "I Have a Dream"
On the Sunday before Martin Luther King Day, his most memorable speech is recalled from the Lectionary readings. His dream began, "...that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed, 'We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal...'" Each of the four Lectionary readings undergird that vision of the global embrace of God's creative, redeeming, and sustaining grace and love.

The scriptural vision is presented in the form of a call: Isaiah heard the Lord saying, "...I will give you as a light to the nations, that my salvation may reach to the end of the earth."

That global vision of the embrace of God's love for all people and all creation is a major theme running throughout the Bible. What would it be like for you and me in all humility to claim our vocation as "light of the world" in this time when our nation and our congregations are reeling from unprecedented chaos at home and in foreign affairs?

We  invite you to join us in worship, either in person or on You Tube
(
Jim Robinson - YouTube), or you can view the recorded service later on this website--just click on the "Worship Videos" link at the left of the page. You also can view past worship services on the same page of this website.

If you prefer reading (as I often do), and/or want to check out the footnotes that credit and document my sources, click on "Sermon Manuscripts" on the left margin of this page.

We also have an active Sunday School program for all ages! Visit our Christian Education page to see what's going on this semester!

I look forward to greeting you soon, hopefully face-to-face, but virtually, if necessary!

Together in the Walk,
Pastor Jim
